We share a study conducted on children with perinatal HIV followed at the AINA Village in Kenya. The research compared the visual health of these children with that of healthy peers, revealing largely similar eye conditions. A significant finding was a higher frequency of strabismus in children with HIV, possibly as a side effect of antiretroviral therapy.
The study highlights the importance of ensuring access to specialized care even in the most vulnerable settings.
